@bastilian there isn't an emoji for how I understand
@badnetmask @jwildeboer @3dprinting another option is @Blender which can import the SVG, and then you can add depth or cut out or handle 3D aspects
@segphault Podman Desktop is pretty great too, but I'm not a neutral party.
Enterprises buy in to Supergraph and Dataverse thinking they are solutions for a problem that is actually solved by starting with foundational ontology and RDF. The Emperor's new clothes are just more silos covered in a blanket with a graph-like pattern.
Funny voice command issue: my daughter wants to hear "Please don't stop the music" by Rihanna. If I say, "Play please don't stop the music" nothing happens. I have to say, "play please don't the music by Rihanna" or it will just..not stop the music.
@chriscoyier I don't enjoy skiing for the same reason, but I do enjoy snowboarding. Mt Bachelor is also the place where I can go back to in my mind and recall the zen of the *shush* of fresh powder spilling over as I turned on an untouched part of the slope, and it brings me a cool, refreshing state of mind in the hotter times. Maybe you just need to reduce the number of planks your feet are attached to?
Has anyone else had this happen: You investigate, introduce, and promote some web standard at work, and then years later (in my case 4-6 years) someone else has an "idea" about something that is trying to solve the exact same thing, but they don't even mention the standard? Bonus points if you can guess which ones it was in my case.
@jaffathecake I have observed, via my wife's baking side hustle, people I have interacted with in friendly social situations who almost can't function courteously digitally. There are some where I think it is an issue with typing or ignorance of online etiquette, but so many interactions where it would be hilarious to act out the parts due to their sheer rudeness.
@jaffathecake this question is more a philosophical and subjective, but do you think that if more of a person's real-life identity was tied to their digital one that it would impact those types of interactions? That was one thing I actually liked about G+ back in the day. There was an implied accountability because accounts were tied (mostly) to a person's real identity.
There are so many interesting web standards on the horizon that small businesses and non-profit organizations will benefit from it is an exciting time for the web.
