HTTP has a new method: QUERY. Tl;dr: GET with a body.

The HTTP QUERY Method

This specification defines the QUERY method for HTTP. A QUERY requests that the request target process the enclosed content in a safe and idempotent manner and then respond with the result of that processing. This is similar to POST requests but can be automatically repeated or restarted without concern for partial state changes.

@mia I wrote an advice document for a large enterprise company where I strongly advise to never replace html elements but decorate them instead by wrapping them in custom elements that handle the styling, nothing else. That way the html element remains in the light dom and is fully accessible.

Frontenders, I am *begging* you to earn whatever pride you take in your work. How? By testing what you make on the devices and networks most people have. It's not hard, doesn't take long, and there are great automations like webpagetest.org that can make it even simpler.
