Chatting with a neighbor today about the heatwave and the inside of his house was significantly hotter than ours (our house is even older too). We thought about it and concluded it's probably because he removed all the trees from his plot while ours still has many, including 4 giant oaks, that protects the house with shade. He regrets doing this and this got me thinking that I should plant a few more trees this autumn in the front yard.

Since the heatwave started I removed one piece of clothing on a daily basis and it worked for a while but today I'm just wearing the thinnest underwear I could find (and nothing else), tomorrow I guess I can go outside and find a leaf big enough to cover the family jewels and attach it with a string but I'm clueless on what to do the day after that, ideas welcome.

There is a heatwave in west-Europe right now and ... I know it goes against medical advice ... but I found that exercising in the heat (such as a 45-60 min easy run around noon) really helps regulate my body's ability to deal with the heat the rest of the day. I run daily and have done all my easy runs outside so far (I do quality stuff on a treadmill, albeit in a hot room too...) and so far so good, but I pack water and will do breaks in the shade to hydrate.
