I'm a population geneticist from the University of Berne, Switzerland. I'm interested in demographic inferences from genomic diversity, based on modern or ancient DNA. I'm also investigating the effects of spatial expansions on genomic diversity.

Very proud of the work of Sandra Oliveira and Nina Marchi in this paper on chromosome painting. It works with very small reference panels!

Workshop on aDNA analyses

With Daniel Wegmann, we are organizing a workshop on aDNA Analyses from Sept 1 to Sept 5 2024 at the Gemmi pass above Leukerbad in the Swiss Alps.

Registrations are open until July 15th on (https://biologie.cuso.ch/?id=1128&tx_displaycontroller[showUid]=7129).

There is a limit of 35 students for the workshop, which should promote interactions with distinguished speaker and organizers.

Hope to see you in this beautiful setting

I am pleased to announce that a new version of fastsimcoal2 (ver 2.8) is available.

It implements the handling of sample spatial and time heterogeneity with the introduction of the notion of sfs pools, as described in our Molecular Ecology Resource paper (Excoffier et al. 2023 Demogenomic inference from spatially and temporally heterogeneous samples, https://doi.org/10.1111/1755-0998.13877).

it can be downloaded from http://cmpg.unibe.ch/software/fastsimcoal2/

Enjoy!
