I got my NPS/Recreational Lands Senior Pass back when it was still $10, but even at today’s $80, we would still save the cost every year. Campsites end up costing half the regular fee and we generally go out for a few days a couple of times a year and take lots of day trips to NPS sites with user fees.

@marcoarment As an election judge, the best job in the place is handing out the stickers. Here it usually goes to high school students working for community service hours since you have to be registered to do anything official. Second best is handing the first ballot to a new voter, which I got to do lots in 2022. I had to sit out this time, I’m recovering from eye surgery and can’t do the 15 hour day of mostly clerical work chief judges do. Hopefully I’ll be back in ‘26.

@jeffjarvis Trump’s fake reality competition show is mostly memorable for me because he showed how much he values working people by crossing my union’s picket line, outside Alice Tully Hall back in 2004. @jeffjarvis Keeping government out of people’s healthcare choices and keeping religion out of government are the Holy Grail of democracy. I’m all for the old school filibuster, you can gum up the works for as long as you can keep talking. The Senator from the coal industry is as much an independent as Larry “I vote for dead Republicans” Hogan.
