Tattooed_MummyI've seen a few people ask what happens if the instance you are on closes down.
Tradition on Mastodon is that all the people on that instance are buried alive with the admin in a giant pyramid made of old phones and laptops. 😵
We'll likely have the gsg.live instance up tomorrow. Still working on the technicals, but it's better done now before we get too invested in this instance. @informationtray @effin_izzy @Actitect @w_mrx and anyone else I'm forgetting

Somebody gave me access to the guild image asset library. Dangerous ;)
One common misconception (probably based on the weird behaviour of the "follow" button when you go to somebody's mastodon site) is that you need to join other peoples' instances to follow them.
Not so! Just enter their id with the instance into your search bar in Mastodon (eg: @litui, my other account) and you can add them from there!
If this is your first time on mastodon, it's also a common practice to create an #introduction post (with the hashtag) so people can boost it and get you some like-minded pals. =)
