Just had the most embarrassing experiance with a supermarket delivery person.
He handed me the shopping bags saying "here you go" and my mind went completely blank and we were looking at each other and it was clearly my turn to say something and I just blurted out "bye" in english. No thanks, no nothing, just "bye"
He smerked and said "bye"
Least we're moving countries next month 😅
