Got the most darling colouring book called The Forest Girls’ Coloring Book. In the cover image the cherries on her dress are more clear since I was looking at them on the first inside page snd trying to figure them out. Butterflies? Peanuts? Finally the shape registered more clearly in my brain 😏

Might do a small book clearout. Well, small just for colouring books. I have some others too that I doubt I’ll read. Kerby Rosanes’ work is so detailed, as is Joseph Catimbang. They’re a similar fantastical vibe too, but I prefer Catimbang.
One of the Rosanes books came partially coloured (it was used and both were surprisingly cheap). I’ve added to one page that was half done. So it could be donated, I guess. I like some pages in both, but I’ll never finish the ten books I have. The others are all simpler and mostly not too cute. The tokidoki one is really fun.
I like when the picture contains a person so Sakuems’ work is wonderful. Flowers and birds are good too. You’d think I’d like cats, but it depends how they draw animals’ faces. They make them look grumpy sometimes.
Catimbamg includes tiny people quite often, though they’re only occasionally fairies, still I decided they all are (they don’t need wings, I think that was a cute Victorian invention).

Been doing a little colouring and loving Joseph Catimbang’s whimsical fantastical style. Started to get some ideas of my own which is refreshing. For a long time I’d been unable to really picture a full illustration in my mind, it was very frustrating. The lack of energy is enough of that.
It’s been a while since my oomph to do my own art mostly went, a combination of some otherwise good therapy and the hideous stress of the DWP in 2022. I still don’t think my nervous system has defrosted from years of freeze and there’s only so much more I can do for it.
