A - dare I say - confederation of red states would constitute such an impoverished country that Donald Trump would call it a shithole.
I have to agree with the Bruce family members who say this is not #reparations, since all they got was the return of property that was always rightfully theirs. Reparations would perhaps be a more appropriate term if they were also compensated for the economic losses incurred through the deprivation of this valuable property over many decades. https://www.nytimes.com/2023/02/19/us/bruces-beach-sold-reparations.html
Bruce’s Beach Was a Reparations Model. Then the Family Sold It.

This is essentially the same thing that happened to me 25 years ago, except that Roe v. Wade prevented state legislators from forcing me to go through what these parents are now enduring. Every person who is making them continue this suffering is evil. https://www.washingtonpost.com/health/2023/02/18/florida-abortion-ban-unviable-pregnancy-potter-syndrome/

Went for a walk this afternoon. It was colder than I anticipated and I didn’t bring gloves and had no pockets. I passed a man about my age, who had his hands in the pockets of his sweatshirt. We waved at each other and then he announced, “I’m using my fat to keep my hands warm.” I wasn’t too sure how to respond so I just said “wish I had pockets.” Solidarity.
I will believe in consequences for Donald Trump when I actually see them imposed. https://www.nytimes.com/2023/02/15/opinion/prosecuting-trump.html
