In a Slovenian supermarket. We are used to sunflower seed oil in PET bottles, wine in PET bottles is less common. In addition, €1.99 for 2 liters of wine, that is €0.995 per liter; 14% cheaper than the oil.

Anyone else stocking up on imported wines just in case a certain tariff-loving someone wins the election?
I think my favorite line in Peter Stafford Bow's "Corkscrew" had to be:
"Now that Wikus had buried his horn of turds and shown me the vineyards, we walked back to the truck."
Fun read!
Ran out of coffee beans from the fresh local subscriptions so I had to grab a bag at the supermarket. Though still a good local place, the beans were roasted in August. And hot damn this coffee is awful! Freshness matters people.
To celebrate my favorite #Philly October tradition, I decided to revisit the blind taste test between Sweetzels and Ivins’ Spiced Wafers.
Though both are better than the average ginger snap, Ivins’ takes the win based on its more intense and lingering clove note on the finish.
While Ivins’ are only available at ACME, Sweetzels are perhaps easier to find, and do just fine in a pinch.
Terroir may or may not be real… but it sure as hell ain’t a place we visit!
A few years back I thought maybe I should get into vlogging. I quickly discovered it wasn't really for me and that I much prefer writing, BUT, this one lonely artifact remains: 🤣 https://youtu.be/Ie2Sd2xyRYM #wine
