‘Social scientists have warned Zuck all along that the Facebook theory of interaction would make people angry and miserable’

“Since the earliest days of Facebook, social scientists have sent up warnings saying that the ability to maintain separate "contexts" (where you reveal different aspects of yourself to different people) was key to creating and maintaining meaningful relationships”

Boost if you agree

Huh, neither muting nor blocking someone seems to keep their toots from being boosted into my home tl. That shouldn't be like this, right?

Intuitively, for me, blocking should mean that I don't see anything of a person and they don't see anything of me. So, definitely no boosts. And muting that I only see when they mention me, and otherwise they're filtered out of my timelines. So, no boosts either.

(Muting would be what I want to do here, I only tried blocking to see if that would work.)

Thing to do this year - study CompCert (as Coq development). Inside out.
Do you make music? Commission your next album cover with me! Do you know a musician whose music would go well with my art? Let them know!

This year has been long

Shit fuck shit shit shit, I fucked up. Someone requested a return on ebay and they pulled what was left of my money from paypal and more so now I'm at a negative balance! I needed that money to pay for insurance. If you can spare a few bucks please help me get out of negative at the very least! paypal.me/imack666

sister: i like to describe my sexuality as a mobius strip, because "in general, a consistent orientation cannot be determined."

me: aaaaand yoooou haaaave boooundaries!!!

sister: yes. boundaries are important. :3

Some people need to withdraw & have alone time because their mind *literally stops working right* if there's no downtime from social input. It's not always pathological, even when it comes as part of a mental health condition we would like to change.
