There was once a dream of a decentralised web.
As recently as a decade ago we had a still very active blogosphere, connected via blogrolls and RSS. Specialised web forums were still mainstream and messenger apps could largely interoperate.
Centralised social media slowly ate that dream. It had plenty of positives, but it pulled more and more people away from the open web and into corporate walled gardens.
Some people kept the dream of decentralisation alive. And now you are here.

Because Elon Musk has made blatant what has, until now, been hush-hush: that everything you contribute to Big Social is valuable.

3. Your social sentiment
4. Your interests
5. Your contacts and relationships
You put in the work, gave Twitter that data—and now they're going to monetize all of it to the very last drop.
How to migrate from one Mastodon server to another without losing followers:
1. Sign up on new server
2. On NEW server: Go to Account -> Moving FROM another account
3. Enter old account's handle
4. On OLD server: Go to Account -> Moving TO another account
5. Enter new account's handle and submit

2. Підпишіться на @ua та @rada - це україномовні спільноти, вони репостять своїх українських підписників. Вам одразу буде, що читати, зникне відчуття "пустої мережі", ви познайомитесь з активними користувачами мережі.
Вони можуть репостити і вас. Треба лише тегнути їх в пості, який ви хочете поширити. Але не зловживайте цим.
