I wish I knew enough physics to understand what happens if there is a gamma burst in a high gravity environment that affects time (e.g. a massive black hole, but outside the event horizon)
Like, is that why this took 7 hours? But wouldn't it change the frequency of the radiation? So what was the original frequency?
The seven hour explosion nobody could explain
Gamma-ray bursts are the most violent explosions in the universe. In a fraction of a second, they can release more energy than the sun will emit across its entire 10-billion-year lifetime. Most are over before you've had time to register them, gone in seconds, minutes at most. So when something arrived on 2 July 2025 that kept going for seven hours, fired three distinct bursts spread across an entire day, and then left behind an afterglow lasting months, astronomers knew immediately they were looking at something completely new.
It's lovely when people come over and start talking to me in French, then I patiently wait for them to finish (most of the times) and then hit them with a "Je ne parle"

First lessons in French via Duolingo. So far everything was 100%, as the content is extremely simple, I wonder how it will scale. Certainly nervous about genders of objects, it's just not a concept I have in my brain.

To explain why this is a must: the current chairs are so fragile that I am afraid to put my full weight on them. I can't imagine working, using my laptop for writing, or even peacefully eating while sitting on them.
