My UK/German dual citizenship now officially makes it harder me to travel to the UK than if I had only German citizenship.
EU citizens can enter the UK with a passport and an Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA). However, the UK government has updated their immigration policy meaning dual citizens with British or Irish citizenship can no longer get an ETA. Instead I need a British passport.
UK passport: £108≈125€
German passport: 70€
+ ETA: £16≈19€
= 89€
Because of my British citizenship traveling to the UK is now ~35€ more expensive for me than if I only had German citizenship.
Alternatively I could get a Certificate of Entitlement that I could use in combination with my German passport. That only costs £589! (Why do they even list that as an option?)
Renouncing my British citizenship would make it easier and cheaper for me to for me to travel to the UK.
