I worked in restaurants to pay my way, the landlord refused to clean the studio apartment that was to be my first home in Austin, a middle aged waiter who was proudly gay invited me to share his one bedroom place so I could save more and rent a better place. Earnest was amazing and kind, a great friend, never felt uncomfortb
