Just a guy from a far corner of the globe. I try and put words on paper, to mixed success. Lapsed podcaster, amateur coffee connoisseur and infrequent writer/blogger.

Linux, books, ThinkPads, fountain pens, music, gaming and movies are the things I'll toot about most often.

To all my robot friends out there: #nobot

Still going to post about #games, #books, #stationery, and #opensource.

I really need to spend this weekend and upload all my old blog posts to me GitHub repo.

I have written nary a word for the past several months. Personal issues, life, and the universe have just conspired to make me creatively exhausted, it would seem.

I’ll probably try and get into a rhythm again by uploading all my posts to my new web host over the next month or so.
I’ve been absolutely AWOL from any form of writing or journaling for quite a while now. A job that was slowly killing me and a few personal issues have meant that I haven’t had much motivation to pick up my pen or type out any words.
I may have succumbed to the lure of the two new Lamy special edition retro fountain pens 😅

To the #writers out there, any #Markdown editors you'd recommend for a Mac user?

Always like #Ulysses, but it's a fair bit pricey for my basic needs.

How I'm beginning to feel about Twitter and Meta:

“You know, when I was a girl, the idea that the British Empire could ever end was absolutely inconceivable. And it just disappeared, like all the other empires.” — Doris Lessing

Decided to jump into Night of the Mannequins. Quite and enjoyable read.

For accessibility reasons, if you're stringing words together into hashtags, please use CamelCase (where the first letter of each word is uppercase), and include articles - so ACupOfSoup rather than ACupofSoup. This helps people with things like dyslexia, and also some screenreaders that will try to read the whole thing as one word without the separation with uppercase.A^.^

(Also, don't assume people don't know about hashtags and tag their posts in replies for discoverability. Ask first.)

@jaco : "Imagine if Twitter wasn't a social media platform, it was a rubber band factory, then all this debacle could have been referred to as Elongate."
