systemd lost the plot a long time ago. they stopped following the Unix philosophy and now they're busy adding nonsense like age verification. Just like Firefox, systemd doesn't understand its core user base. There are plenty of distros without systemd

ended up moving over to #openbsd on my router from openwrt, this works *incredibly* well with all just utilities that are just... already included in the base system

if anyone's curious, it's an hp T740 thin client with an intel x540-t2 NIC- currently pulling my full gigabit link, got my VLANs set up all nicely and everything

only had one issue- my unit had shipped with a 64gb EMMC drive which openbsd wasn't able to detect, but after swapping over to a typical sata m.2 everything is working great

such a cohesive OS

TIL. In April 1974, in the middle of the night, a small group of conspirators secretly installed a large tensegrity icosahedron made from discarded telephone poles on the campus of Twente University in the Netherlands.

It’s still there. People call it Het Ding (“the thing”).

Can't wait to use and promote illegal operating systems that do not verify age.

@hayden the tldr is that linus was on the WAN show complaining about how popos is unstable- apparently doing another linux challenge and went back to what burnt him initially

except this time it's known beta at this point because cosmic is *literally* brand new

edit: the reason i find this problematic is because portraying known beta software as a "linux challenge" paints an image of the entire ecosystem

at a certain point i have to wonder if linus from LTT has some sort of incentive to make linux look worse than it is
