@dsalo i’m admittedly very out of the loop here; i’m a designer and writer who only occasionally makes use of git to version control markup files like asciidoc/markdown text documents and SVGs but … uhm, could someone give me a brief low-down on why git is apparently now so hated amidst programmers? because i started using git years ago after computer scientists kept bugging me to use it for projects i did with them. and if it’s so bad: what exactly are the alternatives or what needs to be improved about git to make it better? there’s just this general air/assumption in this thread that everybody knows and … like … i don’t know and would unironically be grateful to be in on the discourse because these topics do interest me (as an ‘outsider’).
