@lritter you could actually pledge to "buy" it through the fediverse non-blockchain public distributed history system, and @ada should acknowledge the "selling" of the toot ... but I think there is no way to"really" transfer you the origin and existence rights of the toot and the original author has still the right to delete it (or otherwise ;p ) ... as it's usually the case with NFT no? (a screenshot is a mere bad copy ;p )

@lritter I want to be happy about this development but I fear NFTs are failing not because of the reasons why I dislike the concept, but simply oversupply in a market where demand was quickly saturated because of the barrier to entry for none-techies. I expect it will be reinvented for some Second Life rehash and it will be twice as annoying.
@plastichymn every hype has to deflate before development can get reasonable again. all those NFT engineers did was see dollar signs, but they didn't put in the work. yet.
