I just got this note from a student: “I woke up thinking about evenly spacing letters at a 55 degree slant, haha!”

This is one of the biggest compliments I can get as a teacher. I have converted you into a true letter—one that dreams about letter spacing!

For a belated #NationalBadgerDay : medieval bestiary badger brigade!
"Badgers work together to dig their holes in the mountains. One will lie down at the entrance to the hole, holding a stick in its mouth, while the others pile earth on its belly. Two badgers take hold of the stick with their mouths and drag the loaded badger away." https://bestiary.ca/beasts/beast4721.htm

Champiod didn’t label any of the other blackletter hands.

I was reminded recently that I had yet to share my IAMPETH Illumination & Borders proficiency certificate. There biggest issue was that I centered the border. So if you are working on yours now be sure to place it on the left as if there was going to be lettering on the page.

Two tools I hate: ball point pens and stone paper. However, together they are quite nice! The stone paper makes my ball point feel so smooth and juicy. The extra friction really seems to get the ball rolling and the ink flowing.

That's why the second ı was lengthened to ȷ: 'dıȷc'.

It originally represented the long ee sound as in English 'freeze': [iː].

However, in the 14th century, ... 2/

Hello Fediverse!

I have set up a new, self-hosted shop for my bigger, more expensive illuminations.
It has a few of my most successful paintings now, and I will add more in the next few days.

You are welcome to take a look at the shop:

Boosts are most welcome to help me with that Big Launch. Thank you so much! 🥰

PS: The Ko-fi shop will remain active for smaller items such as bookmarks, Japanese paper dolls, cyanotypes, etc.
