Intellectually curious nerd who likes books.
I’ve designed some books—mostly coffee table books.
I’ve read more books. I have recommendations.
I might like your book. I make stuff.

"It’s not (just) that Bluesky’s board includes the guy who sold Twitter to Elon Musk. It’s not (just) that Threads is owned by Facebook, a cancer of a company founded to nonconsensually rate the fuckability of Harvard undergrads (incredibly, that was Facebook’s least terrible moment. It got worse after that)."

"Years ago, anthropologist Margaret Mead was asked by a student what she considered to be the first sign of civilization in a culture. The student expected Mead to talk about fishhooks or clay pots or grinding stones.
But no. Mead said that the first sign of civilization in an ancient culture was a femur (thighbone) that had been broken and then healed. Mead explained that in the animal kingdom, if you break your leg, you die. You cannot run from danger, get to the river for a drink or hunt for food. You are meat for prowling beasts. No animal survives a broken leg long enough for the bone to heal.
A broken femur that has healed is evidence that someone has taken time to stay with the one who fell, has bound up the wound, has carried the person to safety and has tended the person through recovery. Helping someone else through difficulty is where civilization starts, Mead said."
We are at our best when we serve others. Be civilized.

I drew this guy and now I feel like he’s either trying to hypnotize me or sell me a pair of x-Ray specs. #art #sketch
Maurizio Cattelan: Banana artwork eaten by Seoul museum visitor

A university student told staff he ate the fruit on display because he was hungry.

It’s spring so that means the bunnies are beginning to sprout.

Oh. And one other rather minor thing the world’s smartest man is doing …

He has gone and bought himself a social networking platform. It’s called Twitter and maybe you’ve heard about it.

I sure have.

The World's Smartest Man Doesn't Want You to Read This on Twitter

Let this sink in.

The Reframe
My daughter asked me for a drawing prompt today, so I gave her: A trout working at a bank, giving an auto loan to an otter while a giant bumblebee apocalypse goes on the background. She said to be serious, like it couldn’t be done. So I created one in under an hour to prove her wrong. #doodle #sketch #drawing
I would probably get more drawing done if I didn’t play with my kneaded eraser so much.
