It was so very easy to say goodbye to #Instagram today, the last #Meta product I ever used (or will ever use). I quickly deleted two accounts without downloading any of my posts, and I'm not even bothering to look back. Too bad I have to wait until Feb 20 for the full deletion to be completed.

Everyone talks about voting with our dollars, but you can also vote with your attention.

Stop spreading and interacting with bad ideas. You can block people on social media instead of giving them the engagement that gives them both a soapbox and financial incentive to keep spreading misinformation and stupid opinions.

Stop paying attention to bigots and fascists.

What is more "deep state" than conspiring to circumvent the Freedom of Information act in order to dismantle independent institutions that serve the American public? #heritagefoundation #hypocrisy #The_Republic_of_Gilead
Tradition is just peer pressure by dead people.
I can't turn off ads on #instagram, but I can at least block all the accounts of the advertisers. #protips
If other #SocialMedia platforms were like #reddit (in that you could easily find and read all the posts of other users you follow), I think most of today's problems with social media would be fixed. Just like in real life, users would have to be accountable for the things they say, and to whom.

I just wanted to paraphrase something I read somewhere recently:

How lucky that we as humans are animals that love to pet, in a world full of animals that love to be petted. 😻

The name's Lyndse. And I get low-key annoyed when my name shows up as "Lindse" or "Lyndsee" on things, because strangers like to assume I don't know how to spell my own name.

The fear of being alone - whether it's a conscious fear or not - will only lead you into misery and pain later in life. You will only make poor choices that, ironically, will make you feel more lonely than ever.

Know that you are enough, yourself, and that being alone is nothing to fear. Choose only to be around those you find truly engaging and worthwhile, and free yourself from people who will take advantage of your fear of being alone.

I'm not sure why so many people in the world feel like they must force or coerce others to live and act by their own personal ethics or beliefs. Are our ethics or beliefs only legitimate if everyone else follows them too? And if our way of life is so wonderful, perfect, or correct, then why do we feel we must force or coerce others to go along with it?

People in the world could benefit greatly from minding their own business. If you believe your way is best, lead by example.
