Housing, cycling, transit, and griping
he/him
I visited the other Cambridge last week. It's a great place with lots of similarities to #CambridgeMA and we could learn a lot from them like building some pedestrian/low traffic shopping streets. We do have them beat on bike infrastructure, I don't think I saw any separated lanes outside of the parks. Oh and we should copy the best aspect of their city, cows grazing in city parks. Maybe we could settle for goats?
Lots of raised intersections under construction in Camberville right now! Riding down Cross St. in Somerville is genuinely pleasant now with raised intersections and speed humps on every block. With the opening of the new community path and this traffic calming I can now get from North Cambridge to East Somerville entirely on low stress routes😀
I don't really like stop signs for bike paths, but I really don't like these temporary signs. Somebody had moved it so that it was no longer facing the bike lane.
Brattle St. is quickly becoming a popular route. My observation at 6:45am was that there were more bikes than cars.
#bikeParty is always a blast!
Striping has started on the #cambridgeMA Brattle St lanes. Once the curbs go in I think this will be the first street in Cambridge to have high quality lanes for its entire length.
A new section of Cambridge Crossing is open featuring the coolest sandbox you’ve probably ever seen.
Lots of people shouting at Cambridge TP&T employees at the Hampshire St. pop up. I'm sure they'd love to hear from some friendly voices. #CambtidgeMA

Here are some buildings of a similar height to what #CambridgeMA would see under the expanded Affordable Housing Overlay. It's not that scary folks. Oh and also a picture of 2072 Mass Ave. that is not currently permitted, but could be under the new AHO.

Make sure to write [email protected] or speak at tonight's meeting with your support for the AHO expansion!

Gates are still up, but they are all passable.
