We need to source ASICs and some components from the dominant manufacturers in other countries, but by and large, ours are some of, if not the most, American servers, network switches, and rack-scale infrastructure on the market today.
I'd forgive you for assuming that we merely integrate components fully designed and manufactured overseas; that's how most computer companies work today. But did you know that our system PCBs are designed in-house and laid down in Ontario or Chippewa Falls and our products carry a USA Country of Origin designation?
@wolf480pl @oxidecomputer there’s not a management sled, but in a sense yes our distributed control plane takes over the job of managing the individual sleds based on the higher level actions that users take, or detected hardware issues, etc.
