@oxidecomputer hmm so all those service processors from all the sleds in an Oxide rack are connected via serial to the management sled or sth?

Wouldn't that mean the management sled is also doing part of what a traditional BMC would be, i.e. a multi-user system for remotely managing and monitoring hardware?

@wolf480pl @oxidecomputer there’s not a management sled, but in a sense yes our distributed control plane takes over the job of managing the individual sleds based on the higher level actions that users take, or detected hardware issues, etc.
