I honestly think the moral injury is intentional though in a system that thrives on violence. Coercing people to violate their conscience is a way of breaking them & getting them to accept abuse & violence as inevitable.

I dunno, that's a half-baked thought still, but I think it's a thing.

the unbridled joy people are expressing at the warehouse fire is fascinating

a sign of how far US society has gone down the road of inequality

also, the cost of losing one warehouse looks like it's going to be equal to the cost of the largest ever fine for labor law violations

i hope it's reminding communities of the power they have together, to communicate, coordinate, and have each others' backs

unions are a non-violent compromise, and they provide more protection for the C-suite than private security ever will

@artemis some of us took them seriously. that's on them, not us.

i took it seriously when they said follow your conscience even if no one around you does. i took it seriously when they said to love everyone and care for the vulnerable. i took it seriously right out of the community

my siblings and i laugh about the valuable lessons we were taught but weren't expected to learn. it worked out

and it's saved me in ways i didn't even realize i needed

i can imagine a much better world than this

a world where people who are hurt get care, where people who are vulnerable get support, where all of us have what we need to survive very happily

feeling very lucky to be able to work with other people who are willing to imagine and experiment together!
