This is an incredible recap of Internet history & how Section 230 protects free speech. Authoritarians & surveillance capitalists are trying to destroy it to entrench their power. If they succeed, it’ll introduce government censorship, all accounts tied to IDs, & a dystopian AI Big Brother hellscape. Taylor really nails it here 🎯! The Heritage Foundation is leveraging general Anti-Big Tech sentiment & another “protect the kids” moral panic to squash free speech & build an AI surveillance state.

I'll subscribe back to @uploadvr if the position is clear, coherent and if Ian Hamilton is treated properly. I understand it might not be the "strategy" of the publication, and if so I'll get my information on VR elsewhere.

If AI is forced upon contributors and readers then count me out.

I interviewed the one and only DrMorro! His ORGANISM trilogy, RITUAL, & OLYMPIA VRChat worlds are incredibly surreal mash-ups of vast architecture and symbols. We talk about his whole body of work, key inspirations, & some clues to hidden meanings. https://voicesofvr.com/1681-vrchat-worldbuilder-drmorro-on-his-epic-dreamlike-masterpieces/

There is so much AI Hype right now, and so I'm grateful to have done a deep dive with "The AI Con" book authors @emilymbender and @alexhanna that comprehensively breaks down some of the more hyperbolic claims & harms of AI & LLMs.

I chatted with PHI, Agog, and @peterburr about the PHI Immersive: XR for Impact artist residency taking place in Montreal in March 2026 to develop an immersive prototype. Deadline is June 24th. This is a #sponsored episode digging into all of the details, but also includes some pitching best practices & general advice for artists, & Agog updates. #Callforartists #callforsubmissions

Knowledge comes from believing truths & avoiding falsehoods, but these are two separate algorithms that require a dialectical process. It's the core of the Socratic Method as expertly elaborated by @agnescallard in her new book "Open Socrates." I do a deep dive with Callard unpacking the dynamics of this dialectic, and we brainstorm some of the contextual and design requirements for a "Socratic Immersive Experience."

I got a sneak peak of IDFA’s opening night doc About a Hero which trained a LLM on Werner Herzog’s work. It wrote a true crime doc, they filmed a reenactment, cloned Herzog’s voice to narrate it, & featured experts. My convo w the creators on their process

One of the most beautiful defenses of the open web I've seen in a quite while by @molly0xfff at @xoxo : "And so, we — all of us — can build the projects we want to see, write the software that the big platforms won’t, and create the services that people need. We can wire everything together, whether the platforms like it or not, to tear down the walls that they put up. We can modify the software, reverse engineer their systems, and wrestle back control..."

I am very excited about this. You can use the gaze and pinch style interactions of visionOS in WebXR! This is a very natural feeling and precise way to interact with VR either up-close or at a distance whilst also being privacy preserving.

If you don't have a Vision Pro then you can test it on your sites in the Simulator via Xcode on MacOS.

Introducing Natural Input for WebXR in Apple Vision Pro

Apple Vision Pro is here, and with it, a lot of excitement about the possibilities for WebXR in visionOS.

Juno for YouTube is one of the more popular apps on #AppleVisionPro.
I interview iOS developer @christianselig about the fixes he just pushed in the 1.1 version that were different than what he saw on the simulator + some of the early visionOS limitations:
