I am a political scientist at Miami University (OH) studying presidential power and presidential bill signing statements

This is LOL ridiculous. Like a SNL skit that isn't funny

Zuckerberg standing up and apologizing to families in the recent Senate Judiciary hearing reminded me of an episode of "The Wire" where the detectives had D'Angelo Barksdale write an apology to the family of a murder victim even though he was charged. The outrage by his lawyer--"what are you apologizing for"--is something I am sure Zuckerberg's lawyers yelled at him over dinner. If Meta isn't at fault, then why apologize?

I have heard lots of MAGAs complaining about a Democratic strategy to vote Haley in NH to boost her numbers come Tuesday, including by Trump himself, who complained about the dishonesty.

Didn't seem to matter in 2020 when they cheered on Hugh Hewitt, who encouraged conservatives to vote for Bernie Sanders in the primaries to deny Biden the nomination.

Just leaving this here:

'I’m voting for Bernie': Hugh Hewitt will back Sanders in Democratic primary

Conservative talk radio host Hugh Hewitt announced that he planned to back Sen. Bernie Sanders in the Virginia Democratic primary because “he’s authentic.” “Because Virginia allows early voting and because I don’t know where NBC or Salem will have me on March 3, I’m voting this week, and because it’s Virginia, I get to vote […]

In my extended family, the three things we don't discuss at reunions are: politics, religion, and how to correctly spell our last names.

Remember when the GOP acted wounded when the Democrats moved New Hampshire out from its starting role? When GOP candidates argued how disrespectful it was of NH voters that they don't get the special treatment?

Well, how are those NH Republicans feeling now? No debates? Light schedule? One candidate skipping the state entirely? The frontrunner who spends his time elsewhere?

Always said you won't pay a price bumping IA and NH out of first states to hold an election.

What was the prescription rate of Kentuckians prescribed Oxycontin?

Southern states had some of the highest prescribing rates for drugs like Ozempic and Wegovy.

I once had a woman tell me she voted for Trump because "he has a hot wife." Tonight a guy told me he supports DeSantis because of his wife. I asked what did she do to warrant his support. "Google her" he said. "She is hot."

We are so F'd as a country.

Trump: "This never happened, I do not know this woman."

Also Trump: "The sex was consensual."

Imagine Trumpers actively backing a primary challenger to Bob Goode, a loopy American First Trump lover if there ever was one. Head of the Freedom Caucus all because he dared back a Trump challenger for President? If these MAGA heads tell you that they care about conservative principles, laugh in their faces because at the end of the day, it is all about fealty to the Dear Leader.

I am not sure which tired metaphor to apply to Nikki Haley as she tries not to offend Trump mouth breathers or independents:

She is trying to eat her cake and have it to?

Or a paraphrase from The Karate Kid: "Walk left side, safe. Walk right side, safe. Walk in middle, squish."

Either way, to both the DeSantis and Haley campaigns, it seems their donors have grounds to sue for financial mismanagement as both have raised a lot of money but won't do what it takes to win.
