@monkeyborg @proactivebusybody I’ll tell you who cares: my 2nd generation Nuyorican friend, first in family to get a college degree let alone a doctorate. My first reaction to her signing every casual email that way was “ick,” but then it was “Oh.”
How do you square that with obnoxious white middle class folks doing it outside of say an academic conference context? I do not know.
