1 "politics" refers to decision-making about how to live together in groups
2 choosing to not participate in political discussion is saying you support the status quo, and is a political stance
3 abstaining from politics because you feel safe from its impacts is a privilege and a choice to abandon your more vulnerable neighbours

Biawacheeitchish, the legendary "Woman Chief" was a warrior & leader who had several wives.
Woman Chief was kind of a big deal, ranking third on the Crow's Council of Chiefs. She lead for possibly 20 years before being assassinated around 1858.
She also had stories written about her by Europeans, but these are mostly-to-wholly sensational fictions and don't reflect her actual life.

Nothing more high-stress than the "this or that" of the eye exam for someone who has trouble committing. If I answer wrongly, I'm gonna see worse for a year.
(Also, the weird intimacy of sitting a foot away from a stranger while they gently touch your eyelid. It's not quite the "holding hands with your manicurist" that Tina Fey brings up, but it's close.)
