why am i here
@kopper i've been working on a library for analysis and patching of a certain other bytecode language and, while there's obviously a lot of things that don't really transfer over to other languages, i aspire to be at least as usable and powerful as mixins. it's been a really good learning experience too, though i'm stuck procrastinating and being burned out at the moment.

there should be a podcast where each episode they find an unsuspecting victim invite a guest, and explain some fun piece of mathematics or computer science that is new to them

kinda like Language Transfer i guess, but for infodumps instead of language learning

we know that two nibbles make a bite but where does a chomp come in
@exa ah yes, i tend to disable notifications sounds so i forgot about that. absolutely agree though, that is certainly a good reason to keep the notification in some form.
@exa i think this depends on how you choose to present deleted messages. if they're hidden from history, then it might make sense to revoke the notification, if you choose to leave a marker, then it might make sense to show that notification as well. thinking about it some more though, it does seem like a bit of a useless notification to have: i do not like having a lot of notifications and seeing a notification about a deleted message (that i cannot read!) seems very useless.
@exa torn between #2 and #3, on one hand i can get why omitting them from history would be nice, on the other i think i'd leave an invisible hole in the conversation similar to #1, which is probably good to avoid. then again you don't just delete messages without very good reason, perhaps the goal is even to remove yourself from the conversation?
@sink @nax can you enlighten me
@kopper fluxer seems a tad suspect to me with their visionary lifetime slot thingy
