My meatspace gender is no secret, and it'll come up in context sooner or later, but it's also not something I want to wear as a flag.
I date back far enough on the internet that being an unlabeled packet of electrons meant safety. I don't want to be unsupportive of people who find declared pronouns and normalization of declared pronouns to be their feeling of safety, but I can't declare in my profile without giving up my own.
Pronoun declaration is a thorny issue for me.
I chose the "Kit" part of my online presence specifically because it can read male or female.
In person I am unambiguously cis and don't mind wearing a tag out of solidarity because it's obvious anyway. Online, I prefer to let assumptions fall as they may. I am just prescriptive enough not to claim 'they' for myself (though I'll respect the wishes of those who do choose it), which leaves me...
