@offby1 my version: I don’t have to express every opinion of mine that results from thought and has subtle nuance, nor do I have to post my unpopular opinions just to get trashed for them.
@nuthatch @dnanian I listen to music with Japanese lyrics quite often and sing-along…
@DeepDishSwift thanks for putting on a wonderful conference… I will be there again next year
Used these at Deep Dish Swift and… I didn’t know it was possible for AirPods Pro to stay in my ears! These worked great.

I think I'll try to be here too. This is a different crowd than I have on Bluesky, which is more political and contains a more recent port of users from Xitter (which I prononunce シッター because it's full of...)

Oh yeah, did I mention that I'm studying Japanese?

@offby1 But...you wanted to buy a second dishwasher already, right?

Btw, i'm much more commonly kamitchell.bsky.social now. It took a long time for Mastodon to get me my feed.
@wjs Well, that's the end of an era. In 2017, I used Delicious Library to catalog my books during a move. I only kept books of special significance, out of print, or precious to me. The rest got donated to the library to go into the used book market and benefit youth programs. Mostly, I gave away books I could buy on Kindle if I wanted to read them again. In that way, Amazon benefitted from their openness. Thanks for a great app, it did me well at that time!

Japanese ukiyo-e artist of the Edo period, active as a painter and printmaker Hokusai died #OTD in 1849.

The Thirty-six Views of Mount Fuji are noteworthy not only for their beauty and technical prowess but also for the cultural significance of Mount Fuji in Japan. Hokusai's innovative use of the then-new Prussian blue pigment helped to popularize his prints during his lifetime and influenced not only Japanese art but also Western artists like Vincent van Gogh and Claude Monet.
