"New rule for trail running: if you set out to climb a mountain within six hours of sunset, bring your damn headlamp”

A SWE in a HWE world. Bikes to work in Cupertino. World’s laziest ultra runner. Still a kid from Long Island.

Someone commenting on the Richard Dawkins kerfuffle described him as “middle-aged.” Nope. Dawkins was born in 1941. So his observations about the behavior of large language models may be somewhat …incorrect.

My local town had their Pride Parade today so I decided to go and give out free hugs. I'd say that about 45% of the people who got them really needed them at a deep emotional level - you could see them choke up. Another 45% felt joy and wanted to share that and the remaining 10% were just hug curious. #pride #Pride2026 #support #parenting #loveIsLove

“I can’t get through a set without weeping, which can be kind of embarrassing.” ❤️

“ ‘I think being in a room full of people that are giving you their attention and paying attention to your art and your music is such a gift,’ he shares. ‘I had some of the most beautiful experiences of my life on a stage. I’m really looking forward to that. I’m a little nervous because the past couple of times I’ve played this music for people, I can’t get through a set without weeping, which can be kind of embarrassing. But it’s also really beautiful because the audience reactions every single time are so encouraging and so warm, and it’s a really special thing to happen – To have a human experience with other humans, it’s like peak human existence is these kinds of experiences where everybody is sitting there having a beautiful experience, and the beautiful experience is connecting them more to other people, connecting them more to themselves.’ ”
