Amateur radio operator (K8KET)
, Cyclist (commuter), Industrial robotics instructor.

Failing minimalist, struggling to get rid of stuff.

I commute to work daily by bike (yes, even in the winter). I don't ride to go fast. I ride to live slowly.

My other self-propelled hobbies include hiking, backpacking and canoeing, which I like to mix with radio.

Does anyone know what's going on with mastodon instance hams.social? Can't connect. It has disappeared and mastodon directories don't list it, like it never existed.
@enobacon That's the single biggest reason I want a basket bike; so I can take my non-small dogs riding.
@k0in You're reading it wrong. "TactiCOOL." It's more of an aesthetic than anything. It looks badass. Doesn't mean it's well made. Same for "mil-spec." Doesn't mean anything, except maybe "made by the lowest bidder."

Yep. All compensation over $1 million per year should be taxed at 100% and all held assets in excess of $1 billion should be taxed at 100% of its value annually.

If you and the next three generations of your family can't live comfortably on a $999 million family fortune, well, the French know how to deal with that situation.

Some people say Linux isn't user-friendly. That's not true. It's just very picky about who it calls its friends.

How about recurring inflammation around the heart...pericarditis. Have had it three times in 8 months since having COVID.

Buying, hoarding, and stockpiling is not prepping. Prepping means practice. If you can't use your gear from muscle memory, it'll be useless to you in a time of stress. That's why the military drills constantly. People who buy a family pack of Baofangs, thinking they will be able to use them to stay in contact, without understanding the radio's limitations, are just going to be floundering. HF? x100.

You can buy concentrated permethrin on Amazon and dilute it to spray on clothing, on patio furniture, hammocks, etc. It costs pennies on the dollar compared to the premixed sprays sold in outdoor stores.

Is anyone really surprised? What surprises me is that Prigozhin hasn't "fallen out of a high window" yet.
@N0ZB @megahertz
That is a major reason I am leaning CW!
