foldable screens are fucking stupid because why would i buy a device that is going to develop a crease over time that's wildly fucking expensive
The worst part of knowing exactly what we built in AWS for work is intimately knowing just how utterly deranged the entire thing is design wise.

Been doing some archery again, and it's pretty nice to go out and shoot some targets!

YouTubers aren’t your friends certainly but they aren’t your enemy either just because they are on a platform you may dislike.

my mental scream sounds a lot like neo's scream when he leaves the matrix for the first time

an odd thing, not sure why I wanted to mention it

I’ve been on social media much less lately which has been nice!

Getting on Mastodon usually fills me with thoughts about “social topology”… me trying to figure out what I feel about federated social media. I feel as though with the way it exists now, and the way other federated systems will function, there will be this inevitable draw towards larger central.. er… systems? Things like where a person makes and account, what resources they use to figure out what to block, etc.

As these are largely run by individuals, it will be much harder to have that certainty or trust without spending a lot of time to vet these resources and servers.

Ultimately, I think this will simply become an accepted fact of federated social media? It will always feel unstable in a different way, not dictated by a lumbering corporate will, but by the inbuilt anonymity of the individual(s) participating in federation.

I've definitely been getting tired faster lately! I spend most of convention time meeting friends instead of doing anything at the convention.
