Clicking an app in the dock in macOS either (1) gently brings it to the front or (2) *throws* you to another space, and there's no way to know which will happen before you click. I can see how others would prefer this behavior e.g. if you associate certain apps with certain spaces, but it's always driven me nuts. Finally wrote a cursed Hammerspoon script to fix this. Caveat emptor. https://www.jonathanychan.com/blog/opening-macos-applications-from-the-dock-in-the-current-space/

Just found Superkey by Ryan Hanson. I’d already been using Rectangle Pro by him for window management. Type text and it’ll find it & click it, in any open app in macOS. Going to see if it sticks but it’s an interesting concept executed well. Love how macOS has so many indie apps. https://superkey.app
