Loft 0.8.1 is out — a statically typed scripting language in Rust where null propagates instead of crashing.

a + b where a is null? You get null, not a panic. Recover with ?? when you need it. Built-in mmap store, parallel workers, expression-oriented syntax.

Still early but stable enough for real scripts. Roadmap: native rust generation, lambdas, HTTP/JSON, Web IDE.

We’re excited to announce that HackFest 2025 will take place at the historic former Polaroid factory, the Performance Factory, in their South Building, located at Hoge Bothofstraat 39.

We’re thrilled to have secured this fantastic venue for this year’s edition and can’t wait to welcome all the makers, speakers, and guests to this inspiring location.

Wrote a script to generate these "Iso Slice-O" drawings directly from 3D model files (with a tiiiny bit of manual SVG cleanup at the end). Ran it on some of the most popular models and I'm obsessed with the results using white ink / black paper

@drwhax just use async when you need many concurrent connections, so a few hundred at once. Otherwise a normal program can probably function easier and probably more optimal.
if AI companies get access to all copyrighted works for free because "it isn't possible to train an AI without it", should we not give free access to all copyrighted works to children because it is not possible to train one without it?
the fetish everyone at work has for meetings has created a perverse incentive. i have learned not to ask anyone for clarity on tasks because when i do they want to schedule a meeting just to tell me something that can be easily explained with a screenshot or two sentences of text. which i do get if a task is knocked back to me in JIRA after i put it in review. work dumber not harder
