It occurred to me when I scrolled through profiles this morning:
I envy people with a coherent and cohesive set of preferences. I mean, I enjoy Ligeti, Lew Quadling and Loose Ends side by side. Arne Jacobsen and laminate flooring. Suit&tie, but preferably baggy and sloppy. How do I sell that?
I don't want to sell anything. Still – to be able to say, Hello, Terje here, I like Barry Manilow, therefore I like Xmas songs, golden statues of myself and what's an Arne Nordheim?
But hey, I'll cope.
Very important that you sign this. It is one of the key pillars of this government's moves to fix the next election. It's fascism.
The government are going to spend £180,000,000 each decade to make it harder for us all to vote. Add your name to @[email protected]'s call to scrap the government’s expensive plans #SayNoToVoterID #HandsOffOurVote #ElectionsBill https://ers.tools/voter-id

We have a unique opportunity to reimagine social media right now. It's fortunate that an open source alternative to Twitter has existed to catch the great Twitter exodus.
Twitter was/is huge and overwhelming, controlled by forces looking to profit from you. Mastodon is largely run by people and organizations who care about what and who they are hosting. I joined my instance because of @nathan's cool icon, anti-fascist stance, and queer acceptance.
Since joining I have enjoyed this place.
