Still representing the true 4 elements - rap, graffiti, comics and Adidas trainers :)
@Danhon all I want for Christmas is early warning of the dates for CfA Summit this year so I can book my holiday to coincide and attend ;)
Slides / Tee / Jacket / Trainers all colour coordinated for #swanseacon - talk might be average but you have to appreciate the showmanship ;)
Professional request: I’m looking for a London-based mentor who is willing to have a monthly coffee chat and help me develop as an engineering team leader. If you’ve taken the path from engineer to senior to lead to... whatever is next, I’d love to learn from you. RTs/boosts appreciated!
Though with #mozfest the week after I am likely to be pretty burned out in November!
Looking forward to going to NYC next month for 'All Tech is Human' https://www.alltechishuman.com/ (and a fair bit of graff spotting!)
All Tech Is Human

Let's co-create a more thoughtful future towards technology. Held first ethical tech summit on October 20th.

Really looking forward to speaking at SwanseaCon next week - mainly so I can listen in on the other great speakers!

SwanseaCon is an agile development & software craftsmanship conference

I'm working on something - maybe a new talk - I'd like people to share horror stories about trying to apply for (public service) jobs..
Things like @puntofisso 's classic - https://medium.com/@puntofisso/when-i-spent-202-days-in-the-jaws-of-civil-service-recruitment-775ce584a32e or this from Beth Fox on the birdsite https://twitter.com/firebethfox/status/1009127223784329216

Please boost for reach :)

When I spent 202 days in the jaws of civil service recruitment

I have told this story many times, receiving some varied reactions ranging from the entertained to the shocked and the resigned. It’s time…

If you would find yourself in the centre of a Venn diagram of ‘people interested in improving democracy (in practical ways)’ and ‘people who can get to #Bristol UK on October 4th’ then you should also find yourself at this Practical Democracy Project meet-up we’re running. Come along! https://t.co/6LKNunWUJl
The Practical Democracy Project Meetup: Bristol

Join us for our first Practical Democracy Project mini-series meetup in Bristol on October 4th. We'll be getting together over a few drinks to see what's going on in the worlds of democracy and civic tech in the lead up to our next full event in Dublin.  These smaller events will be a chance to hear interesting speakers and meet interesting people all working to improve democracy for citizens and governments alike. Held in the pub, the meetups will be informal and less structured to open up further dialogue around how to make government more effective. The discussions had will also then feed into the full events a few weeks later, the idea being to keep conversations and momentum going.  For updates, or to suggest ideas for the day, drop us a line on Twitter: @delibthinks

Off to Newport then to visit ONS - 101 weeks since I left - let's see what has changed 🤓
Got new Macbook pretty much set up now but it is time for the truly hard decisions - what stickers will adorn it? #weeknotes obviously - datalab probably - classic 'make things open'? If I can find one..
