I fix servers and build data centers for a hyperscale cloud provider. I print a lot of labels and open a lot of boxes. Training to move into the embedded space in my spare time. Big fan of containers, learning k8s on and off (why are all the tutorials…like that?). My executives are highly dysfunctional, and you can interpret that any way you like and it’ll still be true

coming from tumblr, mastodon has essentially a topologically equivalent interface, with likes (favorites), reblogs (boosts), and reblogs-with-content (replies i think). but whenever i log in here, most posts i see have like...no likes and no reblogs, and maybe a few replies. and maybe i'm just tumblpilled, but i just don't get it... don't you like seeing your friends' posts? aren't you going to put them on your followers' screens? 🥺 we're never going to be the new new pdf at this rate

@foone your solution to avoiding JS is...visual basic? but yes, this problem sounds familiar, along with lots of spreadsheets. we're slowly porting the polycule to rust though

hey @domi have you ever worked with protobuf messages in shell? i've got a message at work that i'd like to just...flatten into bash variables, honestly. my gut says a sed wizard could recursively prepend the innermost keys with the names of its parents, but for all my time spent on regex, i still fear the full power of sed scripting
