We had to say goodbye to our sweet kitty Molly today. She’d been with us 14 years (adopted on 1/1/2012). Before we had kids, before I found my career, before we bought our house.
Life without her is going to be less snuggly, and we will miss her deeply.
I wrote up my experience building my Mac app Decoder last week. It was a lot of fun and I was very surprised how fast I could work in Claude Code to make a new app.
Apple finally got to reviewing Decoder (so a 2-day belated birthday present) and it got approved! I’m working on the blog post right now, but in the meantime go check it out if you have any need to scan a code on your Mac!
What I’d really like for my birthday is for my new Mac app to get through App Review (it’s been waiting since Tuesday).
This was a fun little project that came together really fast and has been waiting longer than it took to build 😂
Building software keeps getting easier and easier — but not everyone realizes just how much. Sometimes building something is as easy as pointing AI to a blog post and asking it to do what the author did.
It's a fantastic way to prototype an idea quickly, to learn by tinkering with code, and to build up the momentum you need. This technique is surprisingly effective, and it's more and more how I'm writing production-ready code these days.
