Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace came out 27 years ago today. I can’t remember a movie getting equal amounts of hype and then disappointment in my life.

I cracked a rib. For the third time in a decade. First I got smashed against a wall by a cow. Second time was moving furniture. This time, I wish I could say I had really rough sex but it got out of hand or my parachute didn’t open and I only cracked a rib.
Instead, I got it this time from reaching for a shoe. Aging is nice because I’m still alive but man aging is a nasty bitch. So much pain and ibuprofen does nothing.
Happy 20 year anniversary to Mr. and Mrs. @bigzaphod. He did a lot better job finding a wife than I did. Look how happy I was for them while keeping track of who had pictures done already:
Life comes at you pretty fast. In the last 2 years, I lost my wife, I lost living with my kids every day, I had to move and I started a relationship with someone else. But now I’m losing my homebrew store. Life is just not going the way I want it to and once again I have to learn to adapt.
This is bullshit. It’s really “I want to say yes but I’m sure my wife will say no and that is why my life sucks.”
I showed the new girlfriend the movie Spaceballs last night, she never saw it before (she’s 48) and she really enjoyed it even though she doesn’t like stuff like Star Wars and Star Trek.
I became a father for the second time 5 years ago today. I feel like I failed as a father not just because their mom divorced me but because their mom told me I was a terrible father.
The funny thing is how many people see me out with the girls and they’ll say what a great father I am. I wish their mom thought so…
