I pulled out the iPad Pro and loaded up Beam browser since I’ve seen so much good press and I’m a sucker for a new browser. It is the closest to Arc for the iPad but the bar was pretty low. Nevertheless, I’ve made it my default browser for now. I still want real extensions, though.

A viewer asked me to consider reviewing the SoundPeats Cove Pro. So I considered it. Then I bought them. Now I regret it. Here's the video:

Yeah, I did that vague thing so I can also use whatever reader I like. It's a niche problem that I'd like to sync progress across a bunch of weird devices and I'd also like the app to be a least a little pretty. I hadn't used KO or FB before but I'm using them now and neither is fugly, but neither is really beautiful, either. 🙂 I need to spend more time with each. I'm just sad that reader apps I already paid for can't be used on this thing.
Books... The TCL Note A1 NXTPAPER screen is lovely for reading, but the reader app isn't the best and few indie 3rd party apps install (FB &KO reader do work). The browser is doing heavy lifting filling in gaps. I'm not sure how I feel about the Note and what angle my review is going to take yet.
I finally found a way to get my sheet music and chord charts set up in my preferred app and played around with the pen in the notes app for about 5 minutes (hmmm). I should tackle books next but this has been a slog so far and I'm tired.
I've had my TCL Note A1 NXTPAPER from Kickstarter for about 24h. It's taken me all this time just to figure out how to work around the lack of Google services so I can use this the way I want to: not just notes/books, but for sheet music as well. I haven't even gotten to books yet.
@SomeGadgetGuy I've been waiting to see what you'd have to say on this topic... 🙂
