Thought I’d write a quick #introduction! I'm a Professor at the University of Toronto where my lab studies the neural and cognitive mechanisms supporting memory and perception.

Recently, we’ve launched a line of research that seeks to translate core principles from memory science into tangible solutions to mitigate memory loss. You can read about our first attempt here: https://psyarxiv.com/2fwup/.

Very happy to be part of the #NeuroscienceMigration and to connect with you here!

I thought you might need to see this.

At my current employer, #CSUChico, a #TitleIX scandal is erupting. An untenured male biology professor had an affair with a grad student, two female professors protested, the university investigates, he buys ammo and tells his estranged wife he wants to kill his colleagues, the university does nothing to sanction him, grants him tenure, and gives him an Outstanding Professor award.

Chico State professor disciplined for student affair allegedly threatened colleagues who complained

CSU is auditing the handling of Title IX cases at all 23 campuses. Investigators visited Chico State in September.

Can we invent a weekend where instead of going back to work afterward we just have ANOTHER WEEKEND??
I can always tell when someone originally submitted a study to a journal with superscript numbered references *cough*Nature*cough* and then reformatted references but didn’t put a space back in(Peelle, 2022).

When I was in college i got into flight simulators for a minute, and discovered there was a whole community of people who roleplay as air traffic controllers on a multiplayer version of MS flight simulator. There was specialized radar and comms software and you could sign up for classes where you learned real-world lingo and techniques for directing air traffic. I tried it for a couple weeks and realized it was basically "having a stressful job" as a hobby

anyway now I'm a moderator on mastodon

I just discovered a new way to spend less time in meetings with people!

1) Click the wrong meeting link

2) Wait “in the meeting” where no one else is joining

3) Enjoy reclaimed time*

* until you realize what happened and bashfully find the right meeting
