I was just reminded of a convo I had with a FLOSS hardcore fanboy who saw I use #Linux but was disappointed I support the evil corpo by using a music streaming subscription.

I ended the conversation with something like "Dude, I have a wide range of music preferences, a single album can cost between a week and two weeks groceries and to feed my music addiction would be very expensive, so yes I pay the evil corpo subscription a year, which is only two weeks groceries"

This morning I got and ad in my timeline. And it still shows up.

So I'm curious as to how exactly is this happening, I mean - this post comes from an account not followed, the post wasn't boosted by someone I do follow. So how did this post end up in my timeline?

New year, new tools. The youngest killed their laptop so inherited my old one, bought a new one for me and didn't even let the onboard windows craptastic slop boot, went directly to install Linux, specifically @EndeavourOS and running @kde

Feeling grateful right now to the fine folks of both projects for doing what they do and allowing me to do some lurking and ishposting in minutes.

I would probably be staring at an update screen right now in windows
