I love putting people in touch. And tennis!
I just feel it’s time for a game changer in #Ukraine. Enough is enough of the killing of civilians. This generation needs to realize we have been here before. That might mean a hard future but I would prefer we do the right things than to pretend we tried.

FT story: “Chinese officials estimate about 250mn people, or 18 per cent of the population, were infected with Covid-19 in the first 20 days of December, as Beijing abruptly dismantled restrictions that had contained the disease for almost three years.” It’s going to be a major test for the international community in the coming weeks and months.

Reading this in the #washingtonpost is just such a shock for Brit living abroad. The country has fallen so far in the past decade. The British deserve better. The world needs to wake up to the tsunami of migration, not by hostility and indifference but by empathy and creating the environment for normal lives to be led (food, shelter, safety, and a quality of life for every human being). ‘Life is ebbing away’: Egyptians face peril at sea in dangerous new exodus to Europe https://www.theguardian.com/world/2022/dec/18/egyptians-face-peril-at-sea-in-dangerous-new-exodus-to-europe?CMP=Share_iOSApp_Other
