However, coming back to the first screenshot, what is perhaps even more interesting - and frankly concerning - is the fact that searches on archaeology seems to be on the decline. I wonder what drives that?
But things are getting weirder. Most of the searches on archaeology in 2010 seems to come from Iceland!
Seems like the interest spiked just before christmas of ‘10. Looking up the wiki of events in archaeology (yes, that is a real page) doesn’t reveal any significant events just before christmas - or in December for that matter. Curiouser and curiouser.
Even in here in Denmark “archaeology” was a more popular search term than the Danish, “arkæologi”.
For a brief moment in the year 2010 AD, suddenly the whole wide world was interested in archaeology.
Eske and I went for our first hike in 2023 and suddenly we met a bunch of Spælsau sheep. immediately I started thinking about sampling them for my PhD...
