(Actually, solved some of that. I had advanced interface turned on, which is advanced in the same way that a six lane highway is more advanced than a country road)

While we all discuss the death of the bird hellsite here, we should also take a moment to ponder about Facebook, and why that is dying too. I've been not using it for ages because it always seemed stuffed with irrelevant crap. Yesterday I installed an extension to block that all and LOOK now what I would have got before the FIRST genuine item on my timeline!

FB is actually useable again now for me.

The one thing I find jarring about Mastodon and really wish they did differently is having the edit box to the left of the thread view rather than as part of that view. It's especially irritating when you're replying to something.
