This is a wild hack. a16z gave a million dollars to startup called Doublespeed. They use a phone farm to flood social media with AI generated influencers and ads. As reduced as it already was, infosec Twitter has been dead over the last month.

Like, dead-dead.

So let’s see if I can’t make a more concerted effort to spend my time here instead of Elmo’s Circus of Horrors & Absurdity.

Don’t feel bad about dealing with entitled sites which are trying even harder to shove ads at your eyeballs by trying to block anti-surveillance tools.

You didn’t ask for a web with surveillance as its business model.

You didn’t agree to being spied upon, and to having your personal data shared with thousands of organisations, just to access a web page.

You are not responsible for fixing this situation.

Heck, you shouldn’t have to be responsible for protecting yourself, yet here we are.

It’s been about 10 days since my last at Splunk.

Looking forward to getting some much-needed rest and time with my family, but I am looking for my next opportunity.

I’ve been finding that I like a little counter-programming in my reading. Being in tech and infosec can make me yearn for the escapism of historical fiction - particularly historical thrillers (which I also appreciate for their educational benefits).
